Inspired by the light movements of the Attiki Odos highway, where there is a constant alteration of light lines, this office building of 600 sqm in Chalandri, Athens, seamlessly blends raw concrete, expansive glass façades, and a transformative light installation, creating a dynamic and visually compelling form.
The building hosts five stories of office spaces. The bold cantilevered volumes define its architectural expression, appearing to float effortlessly, while the interplay of light and shadow enhances the building’s sculptural presence.
The ground level features an inviting open-plan workspace, allowing a direct connection with the surrounding landscape. Above, vertical metal rods provide privacy while filtering warm, ambient lighting, adding a layer of texture and depth. As the structure ascends, its offset stacking not only defines unique interior spaces but also creates generous terraces, offering panoramic views to the highway and the surroundings.
The exposed concrete volumes form a dynamic composition, where the interplay of colour, reflection, and illumination find the ground to truly bring the building to life.
As daylight fades, the building’s lighting installation activates, washing the cantilevered edges in a soft, ethereal violet glow. Light refracts through the expansive glass panels, creating a fluid dialogue between the structure and its surroundings. The effect mimics the changing hues of a horizon at dusk, immersing the building in an atmosphere of continuous transformation.
This building is not just seen—it is felt, evolving with the night, blurring the boundaries between solid form, illumination, and the perception of space. The result is a harmonious blend of bold elegance and modern sophistication, where structure and transparency coexist to redefine urban luxury.
