The Water Villa is a private residence located in the Kaminia area of Milos, close to the famous Sarakiniko beach, known for its beautiful and unusual geological formations.
Given the plot’s close proximity to the sea, the main design intention is to create a strong connection between the building and the water element. For this reason, the residence and its outdoor spaces are essentially placed on “floating” platforms surrounded by water, creating the impression of small islets.
Taking into account that this is a summer residence, as well as the particular characteristics of the local microclimate, emphasis is placed on the creation of multiple semi-outdoor spaces extending from the main building, thus blurring the boundaries between the interior and exterior of the house.
The residence is organized along a central axis on which the three main building volumes are positioned.
The main entrance is located approximately at the midpoint of this axis, where the building that houses the main living area is situated, including the living room, dining area, and kitchen. Large sliding glass panels are designed to fully integrate the interior space with the outdoors.
The second building is located on the southern part of the site and includes two independent bedrooms, each with its own private plunge pool at the same level.
Finally, at the northern edge of the plot lies the master bedroom, offering unobstructed views of Sarakiniko beach and the Aegean Sea. Adjacent to this third building there is a private infinity pool serving the needs of the master suite.
