Villa Paradis is the result of a complete architectural transformation of an existing structure in Mykonos. The original building, although structurally sound, lacked character and spatial identity. Our intention as architects was not simply to renovate, but to redefine,to introduce a strong architectural language capable of elevating both the aesthetic and the intrinsic value of the property.
The project involved a total redesign of form, function, and materiality. The previous indifferent geometry was reimagined through a sculptural composition of interlocking volumes.
Curved walls became the central architectural gesture, drawing inspiration from traditional Cycladic architecture while translating its essence into a contemporary vocabulary. Rather than mimicking the past, we distilled its principles: softness, plasticity, light modulation and reinterpreted them with precision and clarity. The result is a sequence of sculptural masses rendered in a modern expression.
Monolithic white surfaces are carved to frame sky and landscape, allowing light and shadow to articulate the building throughout the day. The villa’s new silhouette establishes a distinct identity within its surroundings, transforming what was once ordinary into a refined architectural statement.
Internally, the spaces were reorganized to create fluidity and coherence. The main living and dining areas unfold within a calm material palette of natural oak, textured stone, and marble surfaces. A custom-designed kitchen island anchors the space, reinforcing the dialogue between craftsmanship and contemporary living.
Outdoor areas were equally redefined to enhance the relationship between built form and landscape. Pergola-covered terraces, shaded lounges, and curated native planting soften the geometry, allowing the residence to integrate organically into the terrain.
Through a careful reinterpretation of Cycladic principles, the project evolves into a contemporary composition of sculptural volumes, rooted in tradition, yet confidently modern.
